On Saturday, Oct 13 almost 3000 registered teams were given 24 hours to create a 3 minute film. At William and Mary, five of the handsomest film-makers surrendered their feeble bodies' need for sleep and set their creative energies ablaze with innovation for one full day. "Bring Back the Box" was the result.

It's No Cell Phone Day.
This is the entry from Kevin Heraldo's team for the 48 Hour Film Contest. His required elements were Holiday Film (Genre), Bubble Wrap (Prop), "It's impossible not to look" (Line of Dialogue), and "Cheeks" Easton (Celebrity Impersonator) (Character).
This movie had a talented group working on it, and the end product is great. It even has a cameo by the one-and-only Troy Davis. Check it out.

Apple Insomnia 2
Can you make a 3 minute masterpiece in 24 hours? Well Apple is sponsoring their second Insomnia contest, so you can test your fimmaking talents against about 300 other student teams to see who is the best.
On October 13th, at 9 am, Apple will post a list of requirements and you choose three to include in the movie that you will write, shoot, edit, score, and compress within the 24 hours. You need to preregister your team here.
The prize this year is a MacBook Pro with Final Cut Studio 2, Logic Studio, and Shake for each member of the team. That's pretty sweet (and worth about $5000).
Keep in mind, this is the Saturday during Fall Break, so while it is good free time the Media Center will not be open.
Good luck everyone!

48 Hour Film Competition
Welcome to the National Film Challenge!
The 48 Hour Film Project is hosting another film contest this October, and it looks like it's going to be pretty sweet.
During the weekend of October 19-22, you will be given a prop, line of dialogue, character, and two genres and then you will a short film in about 48 hours. It's like our 24 Speed, but way more intense. There will be about 300 teams involved, and the finished products that come out of this are top-quality.
If you want to register a team, go to the website.
There is a registration fee of $125, so I'd suggest getting a team together to spread out the cost. But if you want a fun competition, then it is well worth it. You can register until October 18th.
P.S. If you enter, you'll be going against W&M Alum and God-Among-Men Zach Keifer...so be prepared.
